Considering the last two experiences with the vaccinations I was a bit apprehensive about today
...
The programme quite intense, 2 shots
shot 1 - Diphteria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (yes i still do not know what this is)
shot 2 - Meningitis C
....
Last time we did such an intense vaccination Amy cried all the way home, before kind of settling into a drug induced stupor for some hours and then going to bed...
So we left early, appointment was at 10am, we got ready and donned a sporty mise:
A nice velour tracksuit :)
You can however see that Amy was already feeling my tension....
We got to the surgery at 9.55am ( i was already terrified) and this time without a wait we were ushered in, as soon as we sat down Amy started screaming her nose off ... (did she remember the previous time, did she feel me tensing up??)
but
we did not even had the time to say bubusettete that a fantastic nurse had finished...
Amy just had the time to try and say Auch and then she was as well startled by the speed of it all...
so she took the pain and just let it go ...
she fell asleep immediately ...
and i was able to close her up in the anti contagion tent that is our pram when it rains (which means form now to the end of June)
I went home full of hope and shocked it went so well
...
i was oh so wrong, poor Amy did not take it very well, and came down with her first fever
37.4
:(
so out came the calpol and this is Amy in the midst of her drug induced stupor:
So we are now almost done with the vaccinations, just one more to go at 4 months and then we are done until 1 year old
:P)
